FORMER Worcester City favourite Danny Glover says he is relishing the prospect of facing them with Stockport County.

Today’s Conference North clash (3pm) will be the first time the striker has returned to Aggborough since leaving the Blue and Whites to join Halifax on loan nearly two years ago.

He enjoyed two spells with City, scoring 20 goals in the 2010-11 season, while they were still at St George’s Lane, and another ten in the 2012-13 campaign.

Glover eventually moved on from Halifax to Hednesford Town before signing for Stockport in December.

The 25-year-old said: “I am looking forward to it. It’s a big game for both teams and I am looking forward to returning and seeing a few of the lads, Carl Heeley, Matt Gardiner and John Snape – it should be good. I owe a lot to Carl and I appreciate everything he did for me.

“I always tried to do my best for Worcester and scored some good goals and it went pretty well but things move on. They will be looking to win and we will be too.”

Glover, who spent a season with Nuneaton between his two City stints, has scored three goals in nine games since joining the Hatters.

But County were beaten 2-0 at struggling Bradford Park Avenue on Wednesday and will be looking to bounce back.

Glover, who was part of the Hednesford team that beat City 4-0 at Keys Park last season, also reckons Stockport supporters will swell the crowd at Aggborough.

He said: “I am settling in all right at Stockport and really enjoying it.

“We suffered a bad defeat at Bradford on Wednesday and let ourselves down so we have got to come to Worcester and put on a performance.

“Stockport is a massive club for Conference North. We get a good away following and they will expect a response so hopefully we will bring a few fans with us.”
