POLICE have released pictures of two women they wish to speak to after an elderly woman had cash stolen from her handbag while shopping.

West Mercia Police want to speak to the women in connection with a theft in WHSmith, High Street, Worcester at about 10am on Saturday, January 24.

An elderly woman was in the in the store at the time when money was stolen from her handbag.

PC Paul Wanklyn, investigating officer, said: "We believe that the two women pictured can help us with our enquiries and we would like them to come forward as soon as possible.

"Equally, if someone recognises either, or both, of them please could they let us know immediately.”

Anyone with information should call the non-emergency police number 101 quoting reference number 286 of 24 January 2015.
