AN animal protection charity has thanked an Evesham business for its support as it prepares to move to a new site.

The Evesham Cats Protection was delighted to be chosen by Pets at Home in Evesham as the charity is about to relocate from its current site in Wickhamford to another spot within the village.

Fran Holder, Evesham Cats Protection volunteer, thanked Pets at Home for their generosity and for choosing them as a beneficiary of the the Santa Paws scheme run at Christmas.

"During December last year, Craig Timbrell, manager, and his team of staff took part in Pets At Home Santa Paws scheme, which involved encouraging their customers to as pets Christmas dinner for 50p," she said.

"Evesham Cats Protection were also lucky enough to go along during the weekends and we had an animal crackers tombola which also raised money for the charity.

"Craig and his staff, have been so helpful and supportive of Evesham Cats Protection and raised an excellent total of £406.62 for the charity, I really wanted to say thank you to them and their customers.

"The money has come at a very important time as due to a redevelopment at the Dogs Trust site, Evesham Cats Protection are having to relocate by the end of March to a property that is being developed.

"Although we have some support from our head office, we are funding some of the project ourselves and it will take a lot of the money that would be spent on the cats.

"Although we haven't moved yet, we are limited to the number of cats we can care for at present, but still have cats for homing."
