STEVE Pemberton has teased there could be a revival of hit show The League of Gentlemen, if they can get all the team back together.

Steve, who is currently appearing with fellow League of Gentleman creator Reece Shearsmith in the second series of their latest dark comedy Inside No 9, revealed: “I think if we put our minds to it and sat down with Jeremy and Mark on a nice afternoon we could easily come up with stories and back stories -what they’ve all been up to and doing in the meantime.”

Steve, Reece, Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson created the bizarre world of Royston Vasey and characters such as local shop owners Tubbs and Edward, circus performer Papa Lazarou and sinister butcher Hilary Briss for the stage.

It went on to become a radio show, and then won legions of fans as a three season TV series for BBC Two and a spin-off movie.

OSCAR-winning actor Eddie Redmayne found himself in the unusual position of being pipped to an award last night.

Eddie, who took the best actor Oscar and Bafta award for playing science genius Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, saw his clean sweep of award wins ended by Lord Of The Rings star Andy Serkis at the 2015 Jameson Empire Awards.

Andy was named best actor for his motion-capture performance in Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes, the style of acting that brought him to popular attention when he played Gollum in Peter Jackson’s trilogy and more recently in the first Hobbit film.

The British star, who also played King Kong in Jackson’s 2005 remake of the Hollywood classic, also beat stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Richard Armitage and Bradley Cooper to be named best actor at the award ceremony at the Grosvenor Park hotel in London.

ONE Direction have spoken out to quash rumours they are set to split up in the wake of Zayn Malik’s departure.

The band have vowed to continue as a four-piece after the pop star left so he can live like a “normal” 22-year-old.

His shock departure was swiftly followed by reports the group is on the verge of breaking up, but singer Liam Payne thanked fans for sticking with the band and “not thinking it’s finished”.
