BOB HOPE, the veteran British-born comic who became one of America's best-loved performers, has been awarded an honorary knighthood by the Queen. Tony Blair announced the honour for the 94-year-old star late last night at a glittering White House banquet held to welcome the Prime Minister to Washington.
