It's a great feeling to have broken the record, especially at San Siro, in front of my own supporters.

When I saw the ball hit the net against Celtic, it brought tears to my eyes. I'd like to thank all the clubs I have played for and the team-mates that have helped me reach this objective.

Now I'll try and keep going and keep scoring, particularly because a lot of those players chasing me in the goalscorers' charts are younger than me and will have more opportunities to catch me up.

FILIPPO INZAGHI, AC MILAN STRIKER The very first thing I said was that Benfica and Celtic have shown how a team should play on this stage of competition.

You must be ready to make the ultimate sacrifice, you must fight. Celtic and Benfica proved they were ready to make the ultimate sacrifice. Either our players are of a lower class or I failed to get my message across.

MIRCEA LUCESCU, SHAKHTAR DONETSK COACH It all went well for me tonight, but the important thing is it puts us into the UEFA Cup. It was very difficult but we put in a great performance. We went to Ukraine to grab three points and had to play like we did. I scored my first header against Shakhtar and I will keep working to score more goals and set up my team-mates.

OSCAR CARDOZO, BENFICA STRIKER We could have done a little more in the Champions League because we have shown that we were the best team. Football has not been fair with Benfica, because we have shown that we are better than the opponents. If we had scored in Glasgow, I believe that we would still be in the Champions League.

JOSE ANTONIO CAMACHO, BENFICA COACH I am pleased to have returned to the San Siro but I don't feel in any way nostalgic because I am living a wonderful experience, I am at a fantastic club and everything is going great.

I think we held Milan well in the first half but once they scored it became very difficult for us because when the Rossoneri lead, it is really hard to get back in the game.

We didn't know the result of the other game while on the pitch and we didn't play to settle for the draw, simply because that notion is not a part of this club. We played with the idea of getting a positive result but we found little spaces in the first half and it was difficult to react once Milan took the lead. In any case, despite the defeat, it has gone well for us.

It's difficult to explain why we don't seem to perform as well when we play away than when playing at home. I guess the fact that at home we have great atmosphere, that the fans give us an added strength and the edge to get a positive result may be the reason. It's evident that we perform differently and it is something we must improve on if we wish to go far in this competition.

MASSIMO DONATI CELTIC MIDFIELDER I really think we can progress together, because we are a really young team.

It's been an incredible change in three years, but I really hope this team can grow together and become better.

We have great young players in the team, we have a bit of experience and I think we can do a lot. We have achieved a lot as a team already, but we want to keep going.

At PSV, we had a team that had time to develop. Guus Hiddink became manager in 2002 and he changed some things.

We had experience, we had young players and we built a good side - reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League.

When you play with each other for a long time, you become stronger. You know the tactics, you know the style of the players and you grow together.

As a team, if you all play at a certain level in games, with one or two playing exceptionally well, there is so much you can achieve.
