Debbie Jennings, 31, was rushed to the Western Infirmary in Glasgow after falling ill last month and later suffered two heart attacks.

Despite this, her family were hopeful Debbie, of Paisley, was going to make a full recovery.

But they were called to the hospital in the early hours of Sunday and she died soon after with her family by her bedside.

Debbie is survived by her husband Keith, 30, and their children, Eve, 4, Sophie, 2, and three-month-old Lucy.

Her heartbroken dad Jim Mitchell, who is an SNP councillor in Paisley and has another daughter Karen, said Debbie was a “wonderful” mum.

He said: “Her daughters have been left without the mum who just adored them.

“How do you tell them mummy isn’t coming home? Debbie loved her children so much.”

Debbie, a staff nurse at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, fell ill on December 27.

After visiting her GP, she was admitted to the Western, where doctors discovered she had a severe strain of pneumonia.

Debbie’s grief-stricken mum Catherine said: “We just can’t believe Debbie is gone.”
