STUDENTS yesterday occupied the main building at Moray House Institute

of Education in Edinburgh in protest against cuts in grants. The 32-hour

action effectively put a stop to most teaching and some administrative

functions. Moray House students were the first in Scotland to take

action over the Government's proposal announced in the November budget

to cut student grants by 30% over the next three years. At the end of

occupation, they were due to join a mass rally in London today.
