MOSCOW: A man seized an Alsatian dog that jumped at him in a park in a
Ukrainian city and bit it to death in front of its owner, Itar-Tass
reported yesterday. It said the dog, named Elsa, may have been roused by
a strong smell of alcohol emanating from the 37-year-old man as he
walked through the park in Dnepropetrovsk. When Elsa pounced, the man
sank his teeth into the dog's throat.
