THREE cases of Aids were reported in Scotland last month, bringing the

total so far to 418, according to figures issued by the Scottish Office

yesterday. There was one death from the disease during July, bringing

the total number of victims in Scotland to 284. Of the 418 reported

cases, 45% were related to intercourse between men, and 32% to injecting

drugs. The UK total number of cases rose by 143 to 7842, and the number

of deaths from the disease increased by 101 to 4893.
