* Supermarket chain Safeway said yesterday that it is to relocate its
store in Glasgow Road, Edinburgh, to the nearby Gyle shopping centre,
which is due to open on October 11. All 140 existing staff have been
offered jobs at the new store, which Safeway says will create a further
250 jobs, many likely to be part-time.
