I refer to the letter from George B McKenzie (The Herald, September 7) on the subject of Oban Airport.
The funding that was sourced for this project was specifically for the redevelopment of Oban Airport and could not have been used for any other purpose.
We are fully aware of the fragility of our island communities and we firmly believe that the redevelopment at Oban Airport will help to give these communities a viable transport alternative.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
