REFEREE Calum Murray can't wait to handle his first Old Firm showdown this weekend.

The 41-year-old will take charge of Celtic's clash with Rangers at Parkhead on Sunday and he is hoping it passes without incident.

He said: "I'm delighted to get the appointment.

"It's a great honour and I hope it goes well and people are talking about a good game and not the ref.

"We got the appointments not long after arriving in Spain. We touched down and Drew Herbertson looked at me and said You're on the big fixture'.

"I was surprised. I've been fourth official twice in Old Firm games and thought I might get that again. But I'm really pleased."
