RANGERS were today boosted by the news that Sasa Papac has been cleared to play against Aberdeen on Saturday.
The defender's red card in the 3-1 win against Falkirk last weekend has been rescinded after referee Willie Collum examined video evidence of the incident and decided that Papac's 77th-minute foul on Mark Stewart did not amount to serious foul play.
The matter will now be referred to an SFA review panel, who will decide whether a yellow card should be issued instead.
But, regardless of the outcome, Papac will not breach the disciplinary points threshold of 18 - he currently has 12 - and will therefore not serve a suspension.
However, the red card to Falkirk's Patrick Cregg still stands - a decision that is bound to infuriate Bairns manager John Hughes.
Cregg will miss Saturday's match against Motherwell and will also miss one further game.
