A BARBER faces jail after raping a good samaritan who allowed him to stay at her home.

John Guild attacked the woman whom he had first met when she worked at a care home where he stayed as a child.

The victim begged him to stop but Guild sneered: "Enjoy it, b****."

The 37-year-old was eventually caught and later claimed he hoped "the key is thrown away" for what he did.

Guild, who has previous convictions for violence, yesterday admitted rape at the High Court in Glasgow.

Judge Lord Brodie warned him to expect a "significant" jail term when he is sentenced next month.

Guild and the woman first met in the mid-1980s, when she was a manager at a children's care home where he lived.

She acted as a "supported landlady" for him when he was 18 after he had trouble finding a house.

In spring this year, the woman again allowed him to stay at her home in Motherwell.

Guild had been living with his girlfriend and her parents but her mum booted him out.

Early on August 2, a drunken Guild arrived back at the house after a night out with workmates.

He went into the woman's bedroom and asked her for a cuddle. When she told him to go back downstairs, Guild pushed her down on the bed and raped her.

Advocate Depute Bruce Erroch said: "She managed to get up but he grabbed her and forced her to have sex again."

When Guild went to the bathroom, his terrified victim called police.
