WORCESTER City will be forced into an attacking rethink at Lowestoft Town tomorrow (3pm) with top-scorer Sean Geddes ruled out through suspension.

The 15-goal marksman serves a one-match ban in Suffolk after being sent off for two bookable offences in the 4-0 defeat to Fylde at Aggborough last month.

It is a setback for Worcester as they seek to end a run of three matches without a goal in Conference North, having not scored since the 4-1 victory at Solihull Moors.

Manager Carl Heeley said: “That’s the way it is. It isn’t the first blow we’ve had and we’ve got to just deal with it.”

City are not blessed with attacking options following the departure to Gloucester City of Nick Wright but Geddes’ absence could see Tristian Dunkley restored to the team.

Michael Taylor is another option, as is the versatile Aaron Brown, who replaced Mike Symons during the second-half of last Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Boston United.

With just six games to go, experimentation could again come into Heeley’s thinking with one eye on next season.

Right-back Kyle Haynes played in midfield against Boston United, while Rob Elvins was switched from the centre of defence to midfield in the second-half against Boston.

Academy youngsters Joao Sousa, Jamie Smith and James Lemon are also in the frame but Dean Waldron missed the Boston trip with a hamstring problem.

Heeley said: “What we’ve got now in the last half-a-dozen games is an opportunity to blood a few of them and see how they do.

“It’s easy to say we’ve got young players and they’re an important part of the club but ultimately they need to get on the pitch to find out if they’re good enough.

“The good thing about this stage of the season now, because last Saturday probably killed off any lingering hopes we had of a late charge, it gives them an opportunity to see how they cope with the rigours of Conference North football.”

It will be City’s first experience of Lowestoft’s Crown Meadow ground but they make the long journey east aiming for a league double over the Trawler Boys following a 2-1 victory at Aggborough back in September, a match in which Geddes made his debut following his switch from Stourbridge.

Lowestoft are still not safe from relegation but are unbeaten in their last seven matches, a sequence that includes five draws.

Tomorrow’s game will also see Worcester left-back Shabir Khan complete his six-match suspension.
