RESIDENTS unable to vote on polling day but still wanting to have their say are being reminded they have just under two weeks left to register for a proxy vote.
Voters can nominate someone else to make their mark on the ballot paper for them, known as voting by proxy, if they will be unavailable on May 7.
A proxy vote can be applied for if you are unable to get to a polling station for any reason, are a British Citizen living overseas or a member of the Armed Forces.
You can choose anyone to be your proxy as long as they are eligible to vote.
The deadline to register for a proxy vote is Tuesday, April 28, at 5pm.
