MORE than 20 children put on their walking boots for a trail from Walton Hall and Gardens to Walton Lea Partnership in glorious conditions last weekend.
Youngsters were invited to take on the journey over Sunday and Monday for the event which was organised by both sites for the first time.
After arriving to their destination, off Chester Road, children painted rabbits and completed word searches.
"It was nice - they got to follow a trail from Walton Hall and Gardens to get here, we haven't really done an event like this before," said Karen Gillooly, fundraiser at Walton Lea.
Karen, who started as a volunteer at the charity two years ago, added: "We like to engage with all members of the family.
"Adults can look around the walled garden or the recycled bikes, while the children have things to keep them busy.
"Adults stayed on the site and the children carried out the activities."
However, following the two days, future events look likely to take place following the enjoyment from all involved.
"I would think that we would do this again," added Karen.
