A WORCESTER hospice is appealing for donations of raffle prizes and items to sell at a spring fete celebrating its 10th anniversary.

The spring fete at Acorns Children’s Hospice in Bath Road on Saturday, May 2 will raise cash to spruce up the gardens while celebrating its 10th year of supporting young people with life-threatening conditions and their families.

Community fundraising manager at Acorns Mandie Fitzgerald said in order to make the event as successful as possible the charity needed donations of prizes to raffle off and items to sell.

“We’re planning a fantastic event but need the support of the community to make it a success,” she said.

“We’re appealing for stall items and raffle prizes including alcoholic and non-alcoholic bottles for the bottle stall, books and plants and shabby chic items for a white elephant stall.

“People can drop these off at the hospice any time before the day.

“There will be a real buzz at this year’s fete as everyone comes together to mark our ten years in Worcester.”

She added cash raised at the fete would be used to spruce up the hospice’s gardens.

“After ten years there are areas of the gardens that need some attention to make them a safe and happy environment and to make sure they can continue to be enjoyed by the children and their families,” she said.
