HERE is a roundup of the top sport news from yesterday.

Football - BAYERN Munich failed to summon the miracle they required to prevent Barcelona easing into the UEFA Champions League final at the Allianz Arena last night.

Thomas Muller's 74th minute strike at least gave Pep Guardiola's men the satisfaction of victory on the night but Bayern's 3-2 win could not stop the visitors coasting to Berlin with a 5-3 aggregate success.

The Primera Division leaders, who are also preparing to contest the Copa del Rey final, will now face either domestic rivals Real Madrid or Juventus of Italy - facing off in the Spanish capital tonight- in the final on June 6.

Cricket - Kevin Pietersen has launched a furious attack on the England and Wales Cricket Board following the decision to close the door on his international return.

The batsman said he was "absolutely devastated" to see his hopes of an England recall dashed.

Pietersen said he felt he had been lured to a meeting with New ECB director Andrew Strauss and ECB chief executive Tom Harrison under false pretences, having been given the impression he would be told he could still force his way back into England's plans.

Strauss said yesterday there was no way back for the 34-year-old because of a "massive trust issue".

Strauss stressed the decision to offer no way back for Pietersen is one made with a heavy heart and "in the best interests of English cricket".

Rugby - FINALLY, Wales and Northampton star George North says his recovery from concussion is "looking positive" and has played down Warren Gatland's worries ahead of the Rugby World Cup.

Wales coach Gatland has admitted he would prefer North to sit out the rest of the Aviva Premiership season and not play again before September's World Cup for the player's own safety.

However, the 23-year-old wing, who has suffered four head injuries in the last five months, is focusing his efforts on getting back to health.

Gatland said at the weekend that if North suffered another head knock it would rule him out for up to a year, and hinted it could be the end of his career.
