BLUES legend BB King has died in Las Vegas at the age of 89, his lawyer has said.

Attorney Brent Bryson said King died peacefully in his sleep at his home in Las Vegas yesterday (May 14).

The one-time farmhand brought new fans to the blues and influenced a generation of musicians with his heartfelt vocals and soaring guitar on songs such as The Thrill Is Gone.

King sold millions of records worldwide and was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

RADIO 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw has brushed away rumours about him joining The X Factor as “speculation”.

Nick is one of the bookmakers’ favourites to be a judge for the next series of the ITV singing competition, alongside Simon Cowell.

But the 30-year-old said: “They’re nothing but speculation which pretty much everyone’s, who has had anything to do with music, names have been involved.”

FINALLY, Liberal Democrat leadership hopeful Norman Lamb has received the backing of an unlikely fan – in former N-Dubz star Dappy.

The rapper told his 859,000 followers on Twitter that he was a fan of the North Norfolk MP, who is running to replace Nick Clegg after the party’s disastrous showing at the election.
