THIS man is wanted for alleged abuse directed at a member of train staff after he became angry when his bank card was declined.

The offence happened on board the 12.27pm London Paddington to Great Malvern First Great Western service on Wednesday, March 25.

PC Ben Smith, leading the investigation, said: “On board the train, the man tried to purchase some items from the buffet trolley but his card was declined and he became abusive to the staff member.

“Once at Worcester Shrub Hill station, the man became threatening towards the member of staff, leaving him very upset and unable to continue working for that day.”

Officers investigating the case have cross-referenced CCTV from a number of stations and have now isolated a series of stills of a man they wish to speak to.

PC Smith added: “It is completely unacceptable that a member of staff should be treated this way simply for making a request to see a valid ticket.

“Abusive behaviour will not be tolerated anywhere on the rail network, and we will do everything in our power to identify the person responsible.

“If you recognise the man or know his current whereabouts please contact us.”
