PEOPLE planning on a Bank Holiday barbecue should get the charcoal lit on Saturday if they are to make the most of the weather.

Anyone hoping for a return to early April's hot weather will be bitterly disappointed with the three day break expected to see sun and a few showers.

It will be an unremarkable three days of weather with Saturday expected to stay dry with highs of between 16C and 17C.

Weatherman Paul Michaelwaite, from Pershore-based netweather.tv, said: "It doesn't look like it will be too bad over the Bank Holiday but it is not exactly going to be a heatwave.

"The temperature has been about average for May though the showers we have seen recently are more typical of April showers.

"But I think in recent years we have been a bit spoiled for nice weather with temperatures in the low 20Cs at this time of year.

"But the weather we are having now is pretty much as expected for May."

Mr Michaelwaite said Saturday would be the ideal day to bring out the barbecue with the weather expected to have sunny skies and broken cloud.

"It will be a big improvement on the weather we are having at the moment.

"Sunday there will be a bit more cloud and a few spots of rain but mostly dry and clear with temperatures around 13C.

"Monday we will be up to about 15C with a few sunny spells.

"But Saturday will be the day to bring out the barbecue."
