Two new leaders for Evesham Ramblers group Our leaders on the six mile Sunday walk from Broadway were making their debut as leaders. Rosemary and Sue with dog Lucy, having checked out the route beforehand assured the sixteen walkers that the stop for elevenses would enable stunning views over Snowshill. The route took us along the Cotswold Way and through a farmyard where the sheep looked puzzled as a group of cyclist arrived from a different direction at the same time. Our leader was extremely careful not to let them out.

As eleven o’clock approached so did the rain! The planned stop was quickly changed to shelter under the trees in the delightful Littleworth Wood where wild flowers were in abundance and particularly the delicate orchids. Here also was evidence of Cotwold warden activity in the shape of a kissing gate built to accommodate a section of Cotswold dry stone wall.

Shortly afterwards we passed through the pretty village of Snowshill and onwards over pastures, the rain abated and a refreshing breeze helped dry our waterproof clothing.
