BIDFORD-on-Avon's mediaeval bridge is closed this afternoon after a farm vehicle crashed into it.
It will be closed to traffic until further notice for repairs to take place though pedestrians are now able to cross it.
The crash has affected the 247 bus service which will add extra time to the route and bus users should expect delays.
From Alcester to Cleeve Prior, the bus will operate normal line of route from Alcester to Bidford.
It will then divert via Welford-on-Avon and Barton Road, Welford Road and will resume normal line of route at the Cross Roads before Cleeve Prior.
Cleeve Prior Stop will continue to be served and the service will operate in reverse of above on return journey.
Diamond Buses estimated the delays would be around 20 minutes.
A post on the Bidford-on-Avon Facebook said: "Please note that, following an accident that has seriously damaged the bridge, it is currently closed to both pedestrians and traffic.
It is hoped that it will be able to reopen to pedestrians today, however, this is not certain. Barriers, to protect users may have to be erected.
Until it is ascertained that the bridge is safe, it will remain closed to traffic - please be aware that this can take some time."
