PATIENTS in Worcestershire are being invited to give their views about hospital care in the county at a special event on Friday.
Representatives from the Care Quality Commission will be on hand at the Pitchview Suite at the Sixways Stadium between 1.30pm and 3.30pm to hear patients’ experiences of care and services provided by Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust in the past year.
The event comes ahead of a full inspection of services at the three sites run by the trust – Worcestershire Royal Hospital, Kidderminster Hospital and Redditch’s Alexandra Hospital – next month.
The CQC is the independent organisation responsible for inspecting and regulating health services across England. Inspectors from the organisation carried out a surprise visit to the A&E departments at the Royal and the Alex earlier this year and last week published a report detailing a number of issues at the two sites, including overcrowding, staffing levels and the safety of children.
