A YOUNG three-piece funk/rock band from Pershore has a busy summer ahead having secured a number of local summer festival performances.

Prism begins with Milefest in Hartpury on July 4, followed by Colwall Music Festival on Saturday July 25, Livestock Festival in Longdon ,Tewksbury and Malvern Rock’s Festival both on Saturday August 1, BeeFest at Much Marcle on Saturday August 29, Herefordshire Sausage and Cider Festival in Hereford on Sunday August 30, Pershore Plum Fest on Monday August 31 and Relay For Life charity event in Worcester on Saturday September 12.

The unsigned band was formed in 2013 from the ashes of The SJS Band who had won the Wychavon W Factor music award. They performed a live session with BBC Introducing and supported a number of signed artists including Eliza Doolittle, The Struts, The Hoosiers and All Star Weekend from the USA.

The band consists of James Mattey Guitar/Vocals who has just completed his second year degree studies at the conservatoire Leeds College of Music and brothers Dan Clifford-Smith on drums and Adam Clifford-Smith on bass.

Having recorded a couple of songs at Tower Studios in Pershore with engineer/producer Dave Draper, they plan to record another song and release their first EP in late summer or autumn. These two songs have both been aired on BBC Introducing Hereford and Worcester.
