STAFF at Countrywide Farmers have raised more than £250 for charity by taking part in the nationwide bring your dog to work day.

Twenty-four employees at the firm’s Evesham headquarters brought their pooches to the office on Friday, June 26, and collected £263 for Dogs for the Disabled.

Money was raised through a cake sale, tombola, dog fancy dress competition and a dog agility course activity.

John Hardman, chief executive of Countrywide Farmers, said: “A big part of what we do here at Countrywide Farmers and much of the stock in our stores revolves around animals.

“We loved the idea of supporting Dogs for the Disabled with bring your dog to work day, as it fits with our ethos perfectly.

"The day was a great success and it was fantastic to have some of our four-legged friends in the office for a day.

“Far from being too much of a distraction, we felt that having dogs in the office for the day was great for employee productivity and well-being, so it's certainly something we'll be thinking about in future."

Dogs for the Disabled describes itself as “a life-transforming charity, creating partnerships between people living with disability and specially trained assistance dogs”.
