AN award-winning pub near Worcester will host some of the biggest names on the local music scene at a festival on Sunday.

The Bear and Ragged Staff, based on Station Road in Bransford, is ready to rock with Bearfest.

The event has run for the last six years and for the last three years it has raised money for the Midland Air Ambulance, with this year being no exception.

Lynda Williams, co-owner of the Bear and Ragged Staff, said: “We are really looking forward to this year’s Bearfest. We have a brilliant line-up of musicians and would like to take the opportunity to thank them and all the bands from previous years who have been instrumental in helping us to raise more than £10,500 for the Midlands Air Ambulance.

"We are also extremely grateful to our sponsors, supporters and volunteers for helping to make this such a special day. We hope lots of people will come, enjoy the day and help us raise the roof — and lots of money — for this worthy charity.

"We hope we can continue with Bearfest for many years to come and we would personally love to see you and your friends again at this event."

This year's line up includes Hump de Bump, the Delray Rockets, Heavy Oil, Folklaw, Protocol, Bewelian, Stuart Woolfended and Marilyn Middleton.

There is a licensed bar, hot food and an ice cream bike available on the day, which runs from noon until 10pm.

There will also be stalls selling goods and a raffle.

Tickets cost £10, while under 12s go free, and they can be purchased on the gate subject to availability or in advance from the pub itself.

Festival-goers are advised to bring a chair and there is some free parking at the venue.
