TWO teenagers representing the interests of Worcestershire’s young people met with others from throughout the country at an annual conference.

Worcestershire Youth Cabinet members Joseph Webster and Glen Cordha travelled to Exeter to attend the UK Youth Parliament annual sitting on Friday, July 31.

The pair, both aged 16, helped put together a consultation entitled Make Your Mark, which was officially launched this week. Anyone aged 18 and younger is eligible to vote in the consultation and Joseph, who represents the Wyre Forest, and Glen, representing Redditch, have pledged to get at least 7,000 ballots from young people in Worcestershire.

Joseph said: "It was a great weekend and we were very lucky to take part in an event which allowed us take to the top issues in the area and present them to the government.

“As Member of the Youth Parliament for Wyre Forest it is my job to consult local youth clubs, schools and colleges on what they think are their top issues before taking them to debates and acting on them.

“Many great motions have been added to the ballot such as votes at 16 and work experience across all schools."
