STUDENTS starting university for the first time or going back after the summer holidays were given some important information on health services at events run by the University of Worcester.

Worcestershire NHS staff were on hand at freshers’ and wellbeing fairs at the university last month to speak to students and give them information such as where to find hospitals and pharmacies.

Students were also given the chance to sign up to a GP surgery.

Engagement manager at NHS South Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group Helen Parry-Smith said: “We had a great time at both events.

“They were the perfect opportunity to offer help and advice to students, many of whom are new to the area.

“It’s important that students not only look after their health and wellbeing while they’re at university but they know where to go if they do become injured or unwell.”
