AS autumn arrives in Worcestershire, an estate near Pershore is encouraging people to take a closer look at nature.

National Trust-owned Croome Court is taking part in the Trust's Great British Walk initiative, which encourages autumnal walks to explore and enjoy the countryside.

Katherine Alker, garden and park manager, said: "Autumn is such a great time for visitors to explore areas of Croome that they may not have ventured to before with walks for all abilities. There are also many exotic trees to see which were brought to Croome by the 6th Earl of Coventry in the 18th century. The Ginkgo biloba and oriental plane trees are particularly striking and are soon to turn a buttery yellow in the next week or two.

“They can be found on a pleasant walk through the Home Shrubbery which has rewarding views towards the Malvern Hills from the steps of the Rotunda, one of our many follies in the parkland. Autumn seems to be a little later this year so there’s plenty of time for visitors to come and enjoy the colourful display.”
