YOUNG people looking for a chance to increase their skills throughout Dudley are being invited to an event at Stourbridge College.

Margot James, MP for Stourbridge, will host an apprenticeships evening at the college’s Hagley Road campus.

The event, taking place at 5.30pm on Thursday (December 3), will feature a series of presentation given by a number of big name organisations, including Barclays, Vestia and the Community Trust.

There will also be a question and answer panel with companies during the evening, as well as a marketplace where students and parents can network with apprenticeship providers.

Ms James said: “Apprenticeships can sometimes be overlooked as an option for young people. It’s therefore really important that we can provide information about this very worthwhile route directly to young people.”

This latest event is part of the MP’s ‘Aspiration Stourbridge’ programme, which has aimed to develop opportunities for local students over the past few years.

She added: “This event will be a great opportunity to find out more if you think your son or daughter can benefit from an apprenticeship.

“It is also a chance to talk to companies and providers about what they have on offer.”
