THE mysteries of mud will finally be unearthed at Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, Lower Smite Farm, during February on Wednesday, February 17.

Children aged five to 12 can get involved in the great outdoors and enjoy games and activities which will go ahead whatever the weather.

Hannah Thomas, engagement officer for the Trust, said: “This is an ideal opportunity for children to become involved with nature and switch their games consoles off for a day of outdoor entertainment and meeting new friends. Who knows, we may even see mud pie on the menu.

“Children will be given the chance to unwind and spend quality time outside, which is often difficult during the winter months with daylight drawing in so early.”

The action will include searching deep within the woodland at Lower Smite Farm and following the footprints to seek out the mysterious creatures that inhabit the wilderness.

Children will then create a ‘mud monster’ to protect the woodland creatures from the primitive predators living deep within the wood.

They will be given the opportunity to plant their own seeds to help the woodland flourish and will discover all the fun that is to be had with mud.

It will run between 2pm and 4pm costing £3.50 per child to enter. Booking is essential on 01905 754919 and wellies are recommended.
