THE NIGHT IS DARK AND FULL OF SPOILERS: YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

JON Snow, the character played by Worcester’s Kit Harington, was dramatically resurrected from the dead in last night’s Game of Thrones.

After he was murdered by his sworn brothers of the Night’s Watch at Castle Black at the end of last season of the hit HBO TV show many thought it was the end of the young Lord Commander.

But soon after his death rumours began to circulate that Jon Snow, played by 29-year-old Kit who attended Worcester Sixth Form College and Chantry School in Martley, would be back.

Fans of the show have become used to seeing the dead walk again from the White Walkers raising corpses to use as their army to Beric Dondarrion being brought back to life after being almost cut in half by the Hound during a duel.

But attempts to raise Jon Snow looked to have been in vain when the disillusioned Red Woman Melisandre left Jon lying on the slab after trying to bring him back to life by invoking the Lord of Light.

Once everyone left the room (apart from Direwolf Ghost) after the ritual Jon Snow opened his eyes with a gasp just before the end credits rolled.

In a previous interview Kit told the Worcester News he loves Worcester Cathedral, also follows the progress of Worcester Warriors (he played scrum-half himself at Chantry) and likes to socialise with friends at Heroes in Friar Street when he comes home.

He has been to Tramps nightclub in the past and used to frequent the Marr's Bar in Pierpoint Street, often linking up with old friends at the Elgar Statue.

He described Worcester and Worcestershire as 'a wonderful place to grow up' and said the county 'will always be my home'.

Kit adopted the northern accent for Game of Thrones after his co-star Sean Bean, who played his on screen father, refused to adopt RP (received pronunciation).

Kit learned from Sean's 'minimalist' style and said he tried to be from the 'same acting school' as his on-screen dad.
