WORCESTERSHIRE children's charity Mentor Link says it is delighted one of their volunteers had a successful evening at the Wonderful Worcestershire Women awards.
Sharon Chance, a business development manager for Parkinson Wright Solicitors, in Worcester, came third in the Volunteer of the Year award.
She has been a volunteer member with Mentor Link for almost two years and has been providing one-to-one social and emotional support to four young school girls during that time.
The charity's CEO Andrea Maddocks congratulated Ms Chance, and said: “Sharon is one of our long-serving volunteer mentors and has been dedicated to providing one-to-one support to these young girls each week.”
The charity provides support to children and young people in schools around Worcester, Evesham and Malvern with the aim of improving their well-being and engagement in learning and providing dedicated mentoring to distressed children and young people. It mentors around 450 children each year across the region and welcomes inquiries from schools, parents and local organisations.
