Several motorbikes have been stolen overnight from house garages in Stourport and Droitwich this week.

It's believed offenders may be following motorcyclists home to identify potential victims.

The West Mercia Police are advising bike owners to review their security arrangements for their vehicles to ensure that potential offenders are prevented from any more possible thefts.

Detective Inspector Dave Knight from Worcestershire CID said: "We are concerned about these burglaries and want to ensure that everything is done to trace the offenders and to ensure that no other bikes are stolen.

"If you do witness any suspicious behaviour, please let us know as soon as possible so we can direct our resources to the right areas."

Motorcycle theft prevention advice includes when the vehicle is left, engage your steering lock and any other security devices.

The police also advise that you fit battery isolator switches and an alarm as well as a motorcycle-specific lock to the vehicle.

Consider getting the vehicle indelibly marked as well as considering a tracking device, which would help aid with the recovery of the vehicle if it was stolen.

Keeping a cover on the bike would help to slow down offenders attempting to steal it.

The Police also advise fitting CCTV and/or a burglar alarm to your garage, which would act as an excellent visual deterrent and assist police to catch and convict offenders.

When leaving your vehicle overnight, if it can't be stored in a garage, park in well-lit areas and as near to your home as possible.
