DOWNPOURS failed to dampen spirits at a fun-packed Evesham Carnival which proved a feast for all the senses.
The carnival, organised by the Vale of Evesham Round Table with strong community support, featured around 20 motorised floats with crowds lining the streets to watch the vibrant, multi-coloured parade.
At 11am the Crown Meadow and food festival opened to the public. The food festival was organised by Transition Evesham Vale but high quality food was not the only thing on the menu.
Visitors were spoiled for choice as they were entertained by a range of performers from Magic Steve to the Bretforton Silver Band and from the St Andrew's Pipe Band and the Long Eaton Millitaires.
Glen Lyon, a committee member for the carnival, said: "We had a fantastic carnival. It is an example of the Round Table working with the community to create a fantastic day."
He said particular thanks were due to Pat and Brian Marshall whom he said were stalwarts who had worked 'relentlessly' to make the carnival a success.
