A LARGE amount of rubbish including mattresses, black bin bags and other debris, has been dumped in a country lane just outside Worcester.
The rubbish was spotted in the lay-by on Plough Road, between Worcester and Crowle, on Saturday morning by reader Bill Mapp, of Worcester, who was on the way to visit relatives when he stopped and took this picture.
He said: "I've seen fly tipping before, but nothing as bad as this. It looks like a whole house clearance was dumped there.
"It's horrendous. It looks as if they used a tipper truck, tipped it up and just drove off.
"If they came along in the middle of the night and dumped it then, there would be no-one around to see it and report it.
Mark Edwards, senior waste management officer at Wychavon said “We take flytipping very seriously as it is a blight on our environment, costly to the taxpayer and undermines those who behave responsibly.
"This flytip was reported to us last Thursday and was removed shortly afterwards. Anyone who spots or witnesses flytipping should report it to us on our website at any time or during office hours on 01386 565018.”
