A MEMBER of the Roadchef team at Strensham motorway services has been praised for her outstanding customer service after celebrating her 30th anniversary working there.

Shirley Evans first started at the service station on the M5 in 1986, working in a customer support role at the Sign Post Shop.

Over the years, her career went from strength to strength, and she was an integral part of the team when the site was rebuilt in the late 90s, tirelessly working to ensure operations ran smoothly and customers were happy.

Since the renovation, Ms Evans, who lives in the nearby village of Strensham, has been working in the station's branch of W H Smith.

It is estimated that during her time there, she has helped serve over 8.5 million motorists down the country and taken an astonishing £25 million in sales.

She said: "I've been at Roadchef Strensham for the majority of my working life so it’s a huge honour to receive this Long Service Award. I’ll be celebrating the milestone with my family, who inspire me to do my best every single day.”

Simon Turl, chief executive of Roadchef, who presented Ms Evans with her long service award, said: “Shirley’s long and successful career goes to show how dedicated she is to providing exemplary customer service.

"Roadchef depends on talented individuals such as Shirley to provide motorists with the best service on the motorway network.

"Shirley’s incredible sales record reminds us how special she is, and how she continues to flourish in her role, even after 30 years.”
