STAFF at a dog rehoming charity are getting into the spirit of Hallowe'en this year as they conjure up spooky names for new arrivals.

The Dogs Trust Evesham has recently taken in three greyhounds, with staff naming them Wednesday, Gomez and Uncle Fester.

Chris Slight, Dogs Trust Evesham Rehoming Centre manager, said: "These greyhounds are far from ghoulish and there’s no reason to be spooked by them. They are just three of the many dogs we currently have looking for new homes.

"These gorgeous dogs haven’t had the best start in life, but are now hoping to find new owners who can give them the future they deserve.

"This Howl-owe'en, why not come down to Dogs Trust Evesham and see if any of our dogs can cast a spell on you?"

Ex-racing dog Wednesday is six-years-old and enjoys human company and cuddles. She is friendly with other dogs, but needs a cat-free home.

Gomez, aged three, has only ever lived in racing kennels so will need some help settling in and adjusting to home life.

And Uncle Fester, also aged three, has never lived in a home before so will benefit from basic training and continued socialisation. He can potentially live with children aged over eight, and with other dogs, but not cats or small animals.

To meet Wednesday, Gomez or Uncle Fester, or any of the other dogs at the centre, visit the Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre Evesham, 89 Pitchers Hill, Wickhamford, Evesham, or call 0300 303 0292.
