FOLLOWING on from their performance of ‘The Songs That Won The War’ earlier in the year, The D-Day Darlings will be returning to Evesham Arts Centre with their Christmas show.

In fact, they love local audiences so much, they say they will be "Home for Christmas", which is, in fact, the show's title.

A spokesman said: "Having appeared in Evesham back in May, the renowned 1940s trio - also referred to as ‘The Forces Favourite Sweethearts’ - were so well-received they were asked to return for another date later in the year."

Katie Ashby, producer and director of the show added: “We were delighted to be invited back to Evesham Arts Centre – we’ve performed there with ‘The Songs That Won The War’ a few times now and the staff and audience are always so welcoming.

“As far as the theatre calendar goes, seven months isn’t that much of a gap between performances at one venue and whilst I’m confident we’d still be able to attract a crowd for the same show, we thought it would be nice to mix it up a little."

She added: "Of course, we still want to offer the 40s nostalgia for which we’ve become known but being in December we thought it would be nice to throw in some festive favourites to get everyone in the full spirit of the season."

Home for Christmas will feature "some of the most heart-warming festive songs from the 1940s, when Christmas really was the most wonderful time of the year.

The D-Day Darlings will be performing at on Sunday December 18 at Evesham Arts Centre, from 7.30pm.
