PEOPLE wanting to try out Walking Football can do so at an Evesham school.

The sport, which is exactly like football, except people walk instead of run, has been growing in popularity at The De Montfort School.

Now, James Cox, Sports Centre Manager at The De Montfort Sports Centre, is asking more people aged 50 and over to get involved in Walking Football between 7pm and 8pm on Mondays and 6pm and 7pm on Wednesdays.

Sessions cost £2 and Mr Cox says older people have seen health benefits such as lower heart rate and blood pressure, less fat and more muscle and better mobility.

The sessions also offer a chance to meet new people.

The centre is also looking for teams to join the Walking Football League on Thursday evenings.

Teams cost £10 and play between 8pm and 10pm.
