CARE home residents enjoyed a musical blast from the past when a Beatles tribute band came to play a set.

The Upbeat Beatles, from Surrey, visited Greenhill Park Residential Care Home in Evesham to entertain residents on Saturday, February 4.

The surprise gig was set up for one resident who, despite having been a Beatles fan for many years, had never managed to visit the band's birthplace – the Cavern Club, in Liverpool.

A spokesman for Greenhill Park said: "With a cheeky phone call, and the generosity and kind spirit of the Upbeat Beatles, the Cavern came to Greenhill Park.

"The ladies and gentlemen of the home, relatives and staff thoroughly enjoyed the show, singing, dancing and clapping along."

Staff at the home, in Greenhill Park Road, say they are planning the next big event for residents to enjoy.
