MALVERN Hills residents are being encouraged to put their best foot forward and join a free Walking for Health group in the historic grounds of Croome Court.

The first walk is on Monday, February, 27, starting at 10.15am, with subsequent walks on the last Monday of every month.

The new group is open to all abilities and aims to help people lead a more active lifestyle, improve fitness and well-being, and offer the opportunity to meet new people. Walkers will also receive free parking and entry into Croome Park.

The group has been set up by Malvern Hills District Council, and is supported by the National Trust, as part of the national Walking for Health scheme.

Walks will be led by Rachel Vann, physical activity and wellbeing officer at the council and Pat Griffin, a volunteer at Croome. Both are trained walk leaders, accredited with Walking for Health.

Cllr David Watkins said: “We want to support those who are looking to improve their fitness and well-being and we would encourage residents of all ages to join this new walking group. It is also a great opportunity to explore the beautiful grounds of Croome Park."
