SCHOOL pupils travelled to famous landmarks around the world thanks to a virtual expedition programme.

Children at St Peter's Droitwich Church of England Academy were able to explore far-flung, exotic places as part of the Google Expedition Pioneer Programme.

Using virtual reality technology, youngsters visited the Great Barrier Reef, the Grand Canyon, the rainforest in Borneo and into outer space

Miss Bradford, who co-ordinated the event, said: "As a school, we are always looking at innovative ways for our children to learn.

"The Google Expeditions Pioneer Programme captured the children's imagination and was a new and exciting experience for many.

"To be able to virtually visit such a variety of exciting locations in one day was quite a feat.

"The experience created a lot of chat amongst the children about the world we live in."

The Pioneer Programme team visited the school on Friday, February 14.
