PERSHORE High School student, Amy Weston has been given a string of awards in lifesaving - and been selected for the GBR Life-saving Youth 2017 squad.

The 15-year-old from Flyford Flavell competed in the Worcester County Swimming Association competitions and the Welsh National Lifesaving competition.

She won bronze in the 50m manikin carry, silver in the 100m manikin tow and gold in the 100m rescue medley, representing South Worcester Lifeguards, at the Welsh National Lifesaving competition in Swansea.

She also reached the final of the fly races and won the girls 16-year age group 100m backstroke with a personal best of 1:06.64.

For the county, she came a close fourth in the 200m Individual medley and won Silver in the girls 16-year age group in the 200m backstroke.
