A PERSHORE High School student will row the distance from Portsmouth to Normandy to raise money for D-day veterans.
Ellis Morris, aged 13, expects to take around 18 hours to row the 126 miles and plans to be finished by May half term.
He is currently training three times a week at Pershore Leisure Centre.
Ellis wants to raise money for the Return to Normandy scheme which takes D-day veterans back to France to visit places they remember and attend memorial services for their fallen friends.
The charity also runs legacy trips where they take young people with the veterans to Normandy and Ellis has previously been on one of the visits.
He said: "I have been fortunate enough to go on one of these trips and it is an experience I shall never forget.
"This is my inspiration to try my hardest to raise as much money as possible."
Last year, he also completed a sponsored cycle ride for the same charity.
