MALVERN Male Voice Choir and the choirs of Holy Trinity Church are joining forces to present a singing workshop for men and women of all ages.

The event, on Saturday, March 4, is entitled Find Your Voice and is led by Douglas Watts, voice practitioner, singer and conductor.

Mr Watts originally hails from Ledbury; he was a Malvern Male Voice Choir member for a few years and studied music at Hereford Sixth Form College and Bristol University, having been a student of Charles Pavey, the musical director of both the Malvern Male Voice Choir and the Holy Trinity choirs.

Mr Pavey said: "Charles commented: “It is a real privilege to have Douglas returning to Malvern to lead an imaginative event like this. He has tremendous energy, enthusiasm and patience; his engaging approach, in which everything is done by ear, helps those who probably don’t read music to enjoy their singing and the harmonies that come out of it."

The workshop runs from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at Holy Trinity Church hall, Link Top, and includes performances by Malvern Male Voice Choir and the Choirs of Holy Trinity.

Admission is free and refreshments will be provided.
