A NEW festival is being launched in Evesham and is promising something new and spectacular.

To add a surprise element, the location in the town where the new Under the Hill festival will be held is being kept a secret by organisers, and will be announced only a week before the event.

The one-day music festival is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 27 and will showcase a diverse range of music with a variety of influences including reggae, ska, African bass, punk, hip hop, funk and electroswing.

Headlining the festival will be Sam and the Womp. The band's debut single, Bom Bom, went to number in the charts in 2012, and has sold more than a million copies worldwide.

PieMan beat boxer has been lined up to be host the event, while also in the line up are Matuki, Shoot The Moon, Crinkle Cuts, Slim Pickings, King Punch and Little Thief.

Visitors will be also be able to enjoy live circus performers, a climbing wall and a relax zone.

DJ Mista Trick, is the creative director of the festival, and has experience, having performed at many festivals including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Nozstock, Swingamajig and Shambala.

“We are very excited to have such a diverse line up ready to entertain the people of Evesham," he said.

"We pride ourselves on discovering great music and looking for talent locally and this year’s line-up will not disappoint.”

Amy Everard, from the festival, added: "We are really keen to get this festival out to the local community, as we really think this eclectic line up would be a great way to introduce new music styles."

Earlybird tickets cost £35, which are available until April 23. Standard tickets after that date cost £45.

Tickets include standard camping space, after the festival.
